Winter PopUp Library is Now Open!

Tell your students about our Winter PopUp Library!

Access Library Now

It’s our fifth season offering the Free Winter PopUp Library to everyone. Our entire collection of over 600 eBooks, including our 100 Spanish Bilingual titles, can be accessed and read by ALL students at

We know that it is important for children to keep reading during winter break, so every child, whether or not their school or library is a regular Fable Learning subscriber, can now enjoy our high-quality, professionally narrated eBooks.

It’s FREE to use.

We’ve opened our library extra early this year, before the holiday break, to give educators time to browse and help students select eBooks on topics they can get excited about reading.

Also, to help you encourage reading and spread the word, we’ve created simple, printable materials. We are sure families will love to learn about easy access to a whole library of incredible eBooks that engage and inspire reading. You will find:

  • B&W flyers in English and Spanish for you to send home in backpacks (and hopefully end up on every refrigerator across America!)
  • Booksmarks, table tents, and a poster for display in the classroom and library

Remember, all eBooks are free for all children from December 16 through January 3, 2017. This is a great opportunity for parents to share the joy of reading and for educators to sample our eBooks.

How it Works

Any Browser

FREE Winter Popup Library Dec. 16 - Jan. 3Go to You can bookmark it today. On December 16th, the Winter PopUp Library will automatically open, and you will have immediate access to our complete collection. Search or browse to find a book and begin reading on our award-winning Fable Reader platform.

If you would like to read using an iPad or an Android tablet, download the free “Fable Reader” app from iTunes or Google Play or if you are using a Kindle Fire go to Amazon.

  • Once you have downloaded the app, log in using PopUp (exactly as written – the log in is cap sensitive) for both the username and password.
  • Search or browse to find a book and begin reading!

What Educators Need to Know

Our main goal for the Free Winter PopUp Library is to inspire kids to read. Anyone who samples our collection during the PopUp event will experience our clean, simple CHILD LOGIN experience. A child can get started reading quickly and easily, searching for an eBook by Title, by Author, by Keyword, Grade, or by simply browsing through the entire collection to find a book that looks interesting. One click and they are reading!

During the PopUp however, any adult sampling the Fable Learning experience will MISS OUT on two of our most powerful, differentiating features.

First is the deep, robust SEARCH mechanism that we provide to educators.

Our platform enables you to search for eBooks not only by Title, Author, Keyword, Age, Grade, Genre, Subject, Guided Reading, Lexile and AR Levels, but we also allow you to search by Common Core State Standard. This is a powerful tool.

Sample Teaching LinkThe second feature, only available to educators, is our free downloadable TEACHING LINKS to help support instruction with each eBook.

Developed by nationally recognized literacy expert Linda Hoyt, this guide ties each of our eBooks to applicable Common Core standards, and includes suggestions for activities to incorporate CCSS in the classroom. This is a sample Teaching Link for the Sandra Markle book DOWN, DOWN, DOWN IN THE OCEAN.

The entire Fable Learning collection is available as a streaming subscription at a very affordable, annual price that is easily accommodated within most materials budgets. Once you experience our best-in-class Fable Reader™ software, use our powerful enhancement tools, and observe how engaging and intuitive the platform is for kids, we hope you will join our growing community of more than 3-million users in PreK-8 schools and libraries worldwide.
